Email Notifications Stopped
With some free email providers there are stricter limits on how many messages they’ll accept from a single sender in a short period of time. When those limits are exceeded, the provider may temporarily block or reject incoming emails.
The error we typically see confirms that behavior:
HardBounce
smtp; 552 User is receiving mail too quickly
This isn’t an issue with the portal sending the emails, but rather the receiving mail server throttling or blocking delivery.
Recommended options:
- Switch to a business/domain-based email (preferred, as these providers are much more reliable for higher email volumes)
- Reduce the number of enabled notifications on the user account
