How to set up customer pricing using back office system
The PetroDataSync platform integrates with several customer price quote integrations. This article is specifically about standard back office / ERP integrations.
- Supplier Pricing - cost or index prices from suppliers or other sources
- Customer Prices - prices from generated price quotes (from PDS, backoffice, or other integration sources)
- Price Setup - allows you to customize and enrich supplier, terminal, contract, product, or other related information
Price Authorizations
Go to Users > Customers > Customer Price Setup to manage customer authorization settings
Authorization Settings
- Click Options > Edit to manage advanced authorization settings for prices and ordering
Option Types
By default all options are enabled. Click Edit to customize per pricing record.
- Cost Source
- This record type is used primarily with advanced integrations and determines which supplier/terminal/products are used for cost sources rather than simply for quoting.
- Orders
- This option makes the product from the referenced supplier/terminal available for ordering.
- The user will still need the order permission in order to place orders
- Price Quote
- This option allows the record to be made available for customers to see in price quotes.
- The price quote must still be generated in the external pricing system.
Adding New Authorizations
Click Options > Add Authorization (bottom left of the screen)
-
The purpose of the price authorization is to give finer control over which products are available for pricing and ordering
- Authorization records are created automatically from generated price quotes and can be editing as needed.
Updating Authorizations
Click Options > Sync Authorizations (bottom left of the screen)
- Authorizations are automatically added from generated price quotes and triggered when the prices quotes are processed, although not usually needed, this option allows admin user to sync it on demand.
